How to find Erw Porthor |
If you are travelling from Welshpool or the south, make your way to Machynlleth and then take the A493 via Aberdyfi to Tywyn. Before you arrive in Tywyn, you will see "The Old Mill" & sign on the left. Take the first right signed "Happy Valley". Continue from *.
* Follow this road with care for half a mile, then you will see the Erwporthor Chalet Park sign, drive passed the wishing well (seen above) to Erwlas bungalow. Mrs Lewis will be there to offer you a "welsh welcome" & hand you the key.
If you are traveling from the north via Bala, as you approach Dolgellau, keep straight on until you reach the by-pass (A470), take a right, and then follow the road to the next left towards Fairbourne (A493). Once on this road, keep following the signs for Tywyn. At Tywyn, take the A493 towards Aberdyfi and as you enter the 40mph zone on this road, you are only three quarters of a mile from your turning to the left signed "Happy Valley". Continue from *.
